Office space in Sundbyberg
Do you want good transport links and a city feel without being in central Stockholm? We identify offices in Sundbyberg that suit you, both advertised premises and upcoming vacancies.
What offices are there in Sundbyberg?
Sundbyberg has a good mix of offices, mainly in central Sundbyberg and towards Solna Business Park. There are many small and medium-sized companies here, but also larger offices.
Central Sundbyberg has more of a city feel than most office areas outside the inner city, with restaurants, shops and housing around the offices. Sundbyberg suits companies that want good transport links but do not need an address in the inner city.
Which companies are in Sundbyberg?
Sundbyberg is Sweden’s smallest municipality by area but has about 5,900 companies, most of them small or medium-sized. Finance, construction, business services, and trade and communication dominate. Here you will find, among others, Swedbank’s headquarters, the largest office of Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency), which moved here in 2022, and Svenska kraftnät, which has offices on Sturegatan.
Central Sundbyberg is the municipality’s business centre, with shops, restaurants and transport links close to each other.
How do you get there?
At Sundbyberg station you can change between regional trains, commuter trains, the light rail (Tvärbanan) and the metro.
The light rail is being extended towards Kista, with new stops in Rissne and Ursvik. In Rissne you can change to the blue metro line. According to Region Stockholm’s preliminary timetable, services to Ursviks torg are due to start in 2028, with services continuing to Kista and Helenelund from 2029.
What should you bear in mind in central Sundbyberg?
The railway through Sundbyberg has only two tracks today. The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) plans to expand it to four tracks in a tunnel about 1.4 kilometres long through the centre. It will take a long time:
- Now: preparatory works at Esplanaden and Järnvägsgatan are under way until spring 2027 and affect traffic there.
- Next: the Swedish Transport Administration estimates that procurement of the tunnel construction can start in 2028 at the earliest. That is an estimate, not a decision.
- Finished: the whole of Mälarbanan is expected to be open to rail services in 2042, according to the Swedish Transport Administration’s latest assessment.
When the tracks are in the tunnel, 30,000 sq m of land in the centre will be freed up. There the city proposes around 1,500 homes as well as offices and services, and a promenade from Sundbybergs torg to Marabouparken.

Frequently asked questions
- Why do companies choose Sundbyberg over Solna?
- Mainly for the city feel and the transport links. Central Sundbyberg is easy to reach and has more life around the offices than many traditional business areas.
- Is the supply as large as in Solna?
- No, the market is smaller. That is why it can sometimes be harder to find the right premises in exactly the right size.
- How do the construction projects in Sundbyberg affect the office market?
- Positively in the long term. But construction and changes to traffic can affect how some locations are perceived for a period.
- Are there trains from Sundbyberg towards Västerås?
- Yes. Mälarbanan connects Örebro, Västerås and Enköping with Stockholm, and the regional trains stop in Sundbyberg, according to the Swedish Transport Administration. Routes and departures are available from the train operators.
